The People’s Food Movement is a movement of people dedicated to the idea that people should design their own food. They should pick the types of food they eat, design the formulas, and/or help decide what their local stores carry. In order to facilitate this happening people will submit product ideas to Dave’s Gourmet, who runs and owns The Movement. The rules below govern product submission.
  1. Submitters need to submit a formula/recipe to Dave’s Gourmet, Inc. in writing (showing legibly the ingredients and percentage of ingredients by weight) along with a sample of the product and a signed completely filled out product submission form. If both are not received by Dave’s Gourmet the product may not be considered for The Movement. Dave’s gourmet will issue a written receipt for any product received within a couple of weeks.
  2. Samples should be made in accordance with the sample guidelines. If you have questions, you should just ask Dave’s. This is designed to save you and The Movement time and energy. Submitting products that can’t be manufactured would be sad.
  3. Any product that is produced by Dave’s Gourmet for the movement becomes the sole property of Dave’s Gourmet, Inc. including the name, formula, and any related propriety processes or ingredients. The Movement’s product may only be commercially produced by Dave’s Gourmet or its assignees and not by the submitter or any other party.
  4. Many products in the food industry are similar. Dave’s Gourmet may have contemplated or be contemplating many items at any given time. Some of these items may be similar to ones submitted by members of the Movement. Also, products submitted may be similar to other products submitted. In order to avoid any confusion or misunderstandings Dave’s Gourmet will issue a receipt within a couple weeks of receiving any sample and formula. In this receipt Dave’s will note if the sample is similar to an idea that they have previously seen or considered or to one that they are currently considering. If it is, than the submitter will not get credit for the idea. If it is not something previously seen or considered, then the submitter will get credit for the idea.
  5. Whether any product is produced is at the sole discretion of Dave’s Gourmet, but the input of the People’s Food Movement will be heavily considered.
  6. If a product sample/formula is produced and becomes a product of The Movement, then the product will bear the logo of the movement. The creator/submitter of the product will be paid for the product. Their pay will be one third of the profits of the item for three years from the first date of production. Profits are defined as 5% of net sales (gross sales less returns, bad debts, and credits). These monies will be paid at the end of the calendar quarter.
  7. If a product becomes part of The Movement, The Movement retains the right to publicize the name of the creator.
  8. The rules and terms of the Movement are subject to change at the discretion of the movement’s management, Dave’s Gourmet, Inc.
  9. The member who is submitting the formula warranties that they have full rights to the formula and it does not violate any sort of property rights. The member further Indemnifies the movement and Dave’s Gourmet relating to any property rights issues relating to the product they submit.
